4.
Compact the sand layer around the sand and sludge trap with extreme care. Keep
compacting the sand bed around the sand and sludge trap in 20 cm layers. While
this work is being done, keep adding water to the tank to keep it steady.
5.
If the system is to be equipped with a EuroNOK sampling shaft including a shut-off
valve, see separate installation instructions for the sampling and shut-off valve shaft
EuroNOK as well as the instructions laminated onto the side of the shaft.
6.
Install the inlets and outlets of the sand and sludge trap.
7.
Install rubber gaskets onto the bottom edge of the maintenance shaft(s). Install the
EuroHUK maintenance shaft in a vertical position into the installation frame of the
sand and sludge trap. Lock the retaining latches (see figure 5).
If required, attach the RP-maintenance shafts (LM-HUKs) into their installation
frames. Do not let the gaskets slip off their grooves. Certain lubricants contribute to
an easier installation of the RP- maintenance shafts.
8.
Install the ventilation tubes onto the ventilation outlets on the maintenance shafts.
9.
Install the sludge alarm probe of the SandSET 101 into the sand and sludge trap
(comes as a standard in models 10000-50000, an accessory in other models ). The
connection box is hung on the metal hook on the upper edge of the maintenance
shaft. After this, determining the preferred height of the probe is possible;
recommendation is 1/3 of the tank volume. For further information, see figure 4.

Install the cable protection tube into the cable penetration at the top of the
maintenance shaft. The probe cable should be pulled into the building through the
cable protection tube. Leave enough cable inside the maintenance shaft to lift the
probe on the ground surface for maintenance operations.
