❑
Mount the ESC to the side of the fuselage, directly behind
the motor, using a small piece of double-sided foam tape.
❑
If your ESC features a micro switch, you can mount it in a convenient place on the side of the fuselage, using two
small wood screws (not included).
❑
Secure your flight battery into position on the battery deck
using the Velcro
®
strap preinstalled in the fuselage.
☞
When you balance the airplane in the next section, you
may need to move the flight battery fore or aft. The location
shown is only a general location.
STEP 4: INSTALLING THE FLIGHT BATTERY
❑
Plug the elevator, rudder and ESC leads into their proper slots in your receiver.
❑
Temporarily mount the receiver in the fuselage, wherever it is convenient. When you balance the airplane in the next
section, you can find the final location of the receiver and mount it permanently using a piece of double-sided foam tape.
❑
To run the antenna, we wound up the excess antenna onto an antenna bobbin and secured the bobbin to the side of the
fuselage, using a small piece of double-sided foam tape. We then ran the antenna out through a small hole that we drilled
in the bottom of the fuselage and taped the end of it to the back of the fuselage, using a piece of clear tape.
STEP 5: INSTALLING THE RECEIVER
❑
Using 220 grit sandpaper, sand the edges of the leading
edge fairing smooth, making sure to leave about 1/8" of
material around the outer edge to use as a gluing surface.
❑
Mount the wing onto the fuselage.
❑
Position the fairing onto the wing, as shown. The sides of
the fairing should be even with the sides of the fuselage and
there should be a 1/16" gap between the front of the fairing
and the fuselage.
STEP 6: INSTALLING THE LEADING EDGE FAIRING
