Kettle Indicator

If the kettle is removed during a cycle, the unit will shut off immediately. The  On  light

will blink continuously if kettle is not correctly positioned.

Filter Status Indicator/Filter Change Indicator

The Carbon Filter Indicator shows

four status bars to indicate filter life

(fig. 2). Four bars indicate a new

filter and zero bars indicate that the

filter needs to be changed. In

addition to the bars the  Filter

indicator will flash in the display

when the filter needs to be changed.

To reset filter status, press and hold

the  Delay  button for 7 seconds.

PREPARING FOR FIRST TIME USE

1.

Set Purifier on a level countertop or table. 

2.

Remove kettle from its receptacle.

3.

Remove kettle cover by twisting counterclockwise, then lift.

4.

Wash inside of kettle with soap and water, rinse and fill the kettle with ordinary tap 
water to the  Max  line.

5.

Replace the cover onto the 

kettle. Twist clockwise to 

lock. Plug the kettle into the 

base receptacle.

6.

Wash and rinse carafe and lid 
with soap and water.

7.

IMPORTANT:

Before using 

carbon filter, rinse the filter 

with purified water for 30 

seconds so it is wet on all 

surfaces. If filter ever dries 

out as a result of not using the

purifier, remove and rinse so 

it is wet on all surfaces.

8. The carbon filter is packed in a separate plastic bag.  Remove the cover of the carbon 

filter housing located inside the carafe lid. Remove carbon filter from bag and place 
into housing. Replace cover on housing, and replace lid on carafe (fig. 3).

9. Place the carafe on the base unit, and plug the power cord into wall outlet.

10. For Model 8500, 

press  Reset   

button to turn the

Purifier on 

(fig. 4 Model 

8500). Run one 

batch of water 

into the carafe.  

11.

For Model 8800, 
press the Start/ 
Stop button to 
turn Purifier on 
(fig. 4 Model 
8800). Run one 
batch of water 
into carafe.

12. Let unit cool at 

least 30 minutes. 
Steam can cause 
severe burns.

13. Unplug kettle 

from base unit 
and rinse well.

14. Discard the first 

batch of water 
which may have 
some harmless 
carbon fines 
(very fine black 
particles) in it 
from manufac-
turing and/or 
packaging.

15. Your Purifier is 

now ready for use.
