Tuning
Tuning involves adjusting source settings, analyser settings, and gas flows to produce
optimal peak intensities.
After you tune, calibrate the instrument in electrospray (ESI) mode, even if you intend to
operate it in APCI mode. See
for details about tuning in APCI mode.
3.1 Opening MassLynx and Starting the Instrument

Double-click the MassLynx V4.0 desktop icon to open the application. The
MassLynx Login dialog box appears (
).

Complete the
Logon Name
,
Password
, and
Domain
fields.
Note:
The Login dialog box appears only when you enable MassLynx security. Otherwise,
the MassLynx Main window (
) appears after you click the MassLynx V4.0
desktop icon. See the MassLynx Security User’s Guide (version 4.0) for details about
enabling MassLynx security.
