Using Help
The detector has limited context-sensitive Help. When you press ? (Shift HOME) from
a point in the program that has a Help screen associated with it, the appropriate
screen appears.

To exit the Help screen, press Enter. If online Help is not available for the function you
are working on, pressing

gets no response.
3.2.6 Operating the detector
3.2.6.1
Overview of detector operation:
Tip:
If you are operating the detector under the control of an external system, you
can program any parameters not controlled by the external data system at the front
panel of the detector before the external system takes control.
Recommendation:
To prevent reabsorption of dissolved oxygen, run the solvent
degasser continuously when operating the detector at wavelengths less than 230 nm.
Requirement:
To maintain optimum system performance, be sure to close the front
door before resuming normal operation of the detector.
3.2.6.2
Operate modes
You can use the detector in either single- or dual-wavelength mode over a range of
190 to 700 nm. The detector defaults to the mode of operation in effect when the
instrument was last powered-off.
3.2.6.3
Stand-alone operation
When using the detector as a stand-alone instrument, you can store as many as five
methods containing as many as 50 timed and 2 threshold events each. An asterisk in
the method number field on the absorbance screen indicates current conditions, not a
stored method. See
for information on how to store a method.

wavelength
for detection on channel A.
Range: between 190 and
700.
