Battery Compartment

The battery compartment holds a 3 V lithium battery, type CR1/2AA, that
supplies the real time clock and the SRAM with power in case of a power failure.

If you want to change the lithium battery during a power failure, make sure that
you have the new battery ready to hand. For a certain time a gold cap capacitor
provides the required power. The data of the volatile memory (SRAM) is
therefore preserved during a battery exchange.

At room temperature, the battery has a life span of about one year.

It is not possible to check the capacity of the battery via the CoDeSys function
SysRtcCheckBattery.
