5.4 Changing the Engine Oil
Procedure Perform th procedure below to change the engine oil.
1. Always check the oil level before starting the engine. Add oil if the level is
low (L) .
2. To check the oil, remove dipstick (a) and insert it into the oil pan. Do not screw
in the dipstick.
3. Fill engine with oil up to the mouth of the filler port (H) .
CAUTION: When checking oil level, make sure the plate is level. If it is tilted, you
may add too much or too little oil. If you overfill, engine temperature will get to hot.
If you do not add enough oil, the engine could seize.

Note: In the interest of environmental protection, place a plastic sheet and a
container under the machine to collect any liquid that drains off. Dispose of this
liquid in accordance with environmental protection legislation.
