Telephone operation
Alphabetical search
To start an alphabetical search:
Follow the steps in
Review the directory
(see page 15) to enter the
directory.
Use the dialing keys to enter the letters associated with the name. For
example, if you have name entries
Jenny
,
Jessie
,
Kristen
and
Laura
in
your directory, press

JKL
) once to see
Jenny
, twice to see
Jessie
, three
times to see
Kristen
, or four times to see
Laura
. If there is no name entry
matching your search, the next closest match in alphabetical order appears.
If necessary, press

/ CID

on the handset to browse.
Dial a number from the directory
Press
VOL+
/
or
PROG
when the handset is not in use. The screen
displays
DIRECTORY
.
Press
VOL-

VOL+

to browse to the desired entry.

Press the dialing key for the first letter of the name you want to search. If
necessary, press

to browse to the desired entry.

Edit a directory entry
Press

when the handset is not in
use. The screen displays

Press the dialing key for the first letter of the entry you want to edit. If
necessary, press

to browse to the desired entry.

flashes.

and the screen shows the name and number. The cursor
appears at the beginning of the name.
Use the dialing keys (

) to enter the name. See the

to move the cursor to the left or

to the right.

/REMOVE
to erase a character.
Press
SELECT

PROG
to move to the telephone number.
Use the dialing keys (

) to edit the telephone number.

to move the cursor to the left or

to the right.

/REMOVE
to erase a digit.

REDIAL

to insert a dialing pause (a
