to set up and register your new emergency 
button. For instructions on using the

What’s in the box

Your emergency button package contains 
the following items. Save your sales 
receipt and original packaging in the event 
warranty service is necessary.

To deregister all devices from the telephone 
base:

1.  Press and hold 

PAGE

 on the telephone 

base for about five seconds until the 
visual indicator light on the telephone 
base turns on. Keep holding 

PAGE

 until 

the visual ringer indicator light begins to 
flash. Release 

PAGE

.

2.  Immediately press 

PAGE

 again while the 

light is still flashing.

You hear a confirmation tone when the 
deregistration process completes. It 
takes about 10 seconds to complete the 
deregistration.

Operating range

The operating range of the emergency 
button is up to 1,000 feet outdoors or 150 
feet indoors. The actual operating range 
may vary depending on the environmental 
conditions and other interferences such as 
walls, doors and other obstructions.

Test the signal strength

You can carry your emergency button as 
you walk around your home. 
Follow the instructions below to check the 
signal strength between the emergency 
button and the telephone base.

Test device signal strength with your 
SN5127/SN5147 telephone

1.  Press

Portable use of emergency button

1.  Open the lock and insert one end of 

the lanyard into the slot on top of the 
emergency button.

2.  Close the lock.

Emergency button overview

1 – LED (red)

•  Steady on when in emergency 

mode after the emergency key is 

pressed.

•  Flashes when registering to the 

telephone base.

•  Flashes slowly when the emergency 

button is out of range of the 

telephone base.

2 – 

 Emergency key

•  Press to enter emergency mode and 

automatically dial the emergency 
numbers preset in the telephone 
base.

•  Press to cancel emergency call 

mode.

•  Press and hold to enter pairing 

mode.

•  Unscrew it to open the battery 

compartment cover.

•  Tighten it to close the battery 

compartment cover.

Lanyard overview

1 – Move button

•  Press and adjust the button position 

for wearing comfort.

2 – Lock

•  Open and insert the lanyard into the 

slot on top of the emergency button.

Install the battery

 Notes

•  Use only supplied battery or equivalent.
•  If the emergency button will not be used 

for a long time, disconnect and remove the 

battery to prevent possible leakage.

1.  Insert the supplied battery into the 

battery compartment, and matching the 

polarity markings (+ and -) inside it.

2.  Close the battery compartment cover.

3.  Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw to 

secure the battery compartment cover 
in place.

CAUTIONS

CAUTION

 Caution

•  Your emergency button is water spray 

resistant. Make sure the battery compartment 
cover is tightly closed and the screw is 
tightened to prevent water spray from 
penetrating.

Replace battery

With average use, your emergency 
button’s battery should last approximately 
two years. When the battery is low, replace 
it with a new CR123A Lithium battery.
1.  Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw on 

the battery compartment cover.

2.  Flip open the battery compartment 

cover and take out the old battery.

3.  Follow the steps in 

Install battery

 to 

install a new battery to the Emergency 
button.

of four handsets and 30 compatible ULE 
devices.

To register an emergency button to 
the SN5127 telephone base:

Install the batteries before registering it to 
the telephone base.
1.  When the telephone is not in use,  

press and hold

 at the telephone 

base for about five seconds until the

2.  Press and hold 

CANCEL

 on the back of 

the emergency button until the red LED 
light flashes, then release

It takes up to 60 seconds to complete 
the registration. When the registration 
is successful, the red LED lights on the 
emergency button turns off, and the 
telephone base beeps and its visual ringer 
indicator light turns off.

If registration fails, start again from Step 1 
above.

•  You cannot register an emergency button if 

any other system device is in use.

Replace an emergency button

If you have purchased this new 

SN7022

 

accessory emergency button to replace 
an old one, you must deregister the old 
emergency button first, and then register 
this new emergency button to your 
CareLine telephone base (

SN5127

/

SN5147

).

Deregister an emergency button

If you want to replace an emergency 
button, you must deregister all the devices, 
and then individually register each device.

If you want to register an emergency 
button to another telephone base, you 
must deregister all devices, and then 
register each device individually to the 
desired telephone base.
