Engine Storage
If the vehicle must be parked for a period (more than 30 days), protect it as follows:
1 Drain the engine oil.
2 Fill up to the proper level with oil of the recommended quality and viscosity.
3 Fill up the fuel tanks with the recommended grade of fuel.
4 Run the engine for two minutes around 1000 rpm. Shut the engine down. DO
NOT drain the oil after this run.
5 Check the coolant for proper levels of antifreeze and inhibitor (SCA) protection.
Service as necessary.
6 Seal all engine openings using protective covers.
To return to service an engine preserved in this manner, remove previously installed
protective covers. Check all fluid levels and if necessary replace engine oil
contaminated by condensation.
