Fuel system, bleeding
The fuel system must be vented after a filter change,
e.g. if the fuel tank has been run dry or after a long-
term stoppage.

1 Place a suitable container underneath the fuel filter.
2 Remove the protective cap from the venting nipple
(

) on the filter holder. Connect a transparent hose
to the nipple and lead it to the recovery container.
3 Open the venting nipple and pump fuel with the
hand pump (

) until the fuel is free from bubbles.
Close and tighten the venting nipple while fuel is
running out.
4 Remove the hose and fit the protective cap back
onto the venting nipple.
5 Run the engine at idle for a few minutes to remove
any remaining air from the system. The close the
venting nipple (

) on the engine and check that it
does not leak.
