e) Acoustic continuity check
Make sure that all the parts of the circuit, switches and
components and other objects to be measured are dis-
connected from the voltage and discharged.
The continuity test enables the quick check of a power line, for example.
If the continuity resistance is approx. <20 Ohm, a beep is emitted. The
pointer value does not correspond to the actual measured value!
Proceed as follows to make the measurement:
- With the rotary switch, select the measuring
range .
- Connect the black measuring line to the
COM socket (5) and the red measuring line
to the „+“ socket (6).
- Now perform the zero adjustment.
- Check it is functioning, by connecting both
measuring tips with each another.
- Now connect the two measuring probes to
the object to be measured (component,
switch etc.).
- If the resistance value is approx. <20 Ohm
an acoustic signal is emitted.
- After the measurement is completed, select
rotary switchposition „OFF“ to „switch off“ the
multimeter.
