The tester will now display the diagnosis optically.
The following diagnostics are displayed:
The phase indicators (L1, L2, L3) blink alternately green in clockwise direction.
The indicators “PE” and “N” flash green.
The socket is connected correctly. L1, L2, L3, N and PE are
present.
The rotating field rotates clockwise.
The phase indicators (L1, L2, L3) blink alternately red in counter-clockwise
direction. The indicators “PE” and “N” flash green.
L1, L2, L3, N and PE are present. A phase is interchanged.
The rotating field rotates anti-clockwise.
The phase display L1 is off, L2 and L3 flash red.
Error:
Phase L1 is missing or interrupted.
The phase display L2 is off, L1 and L3 flash red.
Error:
Phase L2 is missing or interrupted.
The phase display L3 is off, L1 and L2 flash red.
Error:
Phase L3 is missing or interrupted.
The display N flashes red. The phase displays (L1-L3) may correspond to the
diagnoses above (correct or error).
Error:
The neutral wire N is missing or interrupted. A phase is interchanged, if
an additional phase diagnosis (phase display L1-L3) shows an error.

The socket tester is intended solely for a quick diagnosis of CEE power current sockets on
the public alternating current grid (max. 415V/AC), which are secured with 16A or 32A fuse.
It does not replace the correct testing by a specialist.
This device recognises interruptions to the three phases, the neutral wire or the earth. Additio-
nally, the rotating field (clockwise/anticlockwise) is displayed.
The interchanging of the neutral wire (N) with the earth (PE) cannot be recognised by the
device.
No part of the product may be modified or rebuilt! Observe the safety instructions in their

On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial
workers’ society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
Do not use in adverse ambient conditions. Adverse ambient conditions are damp or excessi-
vely high humidity, dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvents.
If you have a reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it
immediately and secure it against being operated unintentionally.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
• the device is visibly damaged,
• the device no longer works and
• the unit was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
• it has been subjected to considerable stress in transit
FIrst usE
the socket tester does not test whether the earth is voltage-free.
Before using a socket tester, test with the aid of a phase tester that the earth
contacts are voltage-free. If the phase tester indicates there is voltage on the
earth, switch this off immediately (disconnect at the fuse). It could cause fatal
injury! the socket tester must not be used in this case. Let a specialist check
the socket.
After successfully testing the isolation of the earth, plug the socket tester in the appropriate
CEE socket (16/32A).
