8. Setup
a) Connection
• Use the USB cable to connect the micro USB port (5) on the
charger to a USB port (computer, charging hub or charger
with a USB voltage of 5 V/DC). The LEDs (4/7) will turn on
briefly.
Connect the charger to a USB 3.1 (or above) port. The
currents delivered by USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports are not
sufficient to power the charger. To use the fast charging
function, a USB power source with an output current of at
least 1 A is required (e.g. USB power adapter).
b) Inserting a rechargeable battery and setting
the battery type
Insert a suitable rechargeable battery into the battery slot (1),
ensuring that it is inserted in the correct polarity (see po
and negative/- markings in the battery slot and on the battery).
•
By default, NiMH and NiCd rechargeable batteries and 3.7
V Li-ion batteries are automatically charged with a charging
current of 500 mA.
• To switch to quick charge mode (with a 1 A charging current),
press the
SELECT
button (2). The 1 A charging current indi-
cator (8) will turn on.
