Whenever you have to adjust or assemble the
blades;
▪
Before the equipment is inspected, cleaned or
before a repair work is carried out;
▪
If it hits a foreign object; Check the appliance,
especially the tines and the drive shaft. Make sure
there is no damage. If any, carry out the necessary
repairs before turning on the tiller and working
with it;
▪
If the tiller vibrates excessively and abnormally.
Detect the cause of the malfunction immediately
and make the necessary repairs. Strong vibrations
generally indicate a malfunction;
The tiller must not be operated with a bent drive shaft
or damaged farming attachable equipment.
If you lack the necessary knowledge, ask a professional
to make the necessary repairs.
Maintenance and cleaning
Before start cleaning, adjustment, repair and
maintenance works:
▪
Place the tiller in a firm and steady surface.
▪
Turn off the combustion engine and allow it to cool
down;
To clean or service the tiller, just lean it back. If the
machine is turned sideways or forward, damage to the
combustion engine and other parts of the machine may
occur, which may cause costly repairs.
Allow the tiller to cool down in particular before
carrying out maintenance work on the
transmission/ drive system, combustion engine,
exhaust manifold and muffler. Temperatures of 80 ° C
or even higher can be reached.
Direct contact with engine oil can be dangerous,
moreover, engine oil must not be spilled.
VITO recommends that you leave of the engine oil
fueling process to a specialist.
Frequently check the equipment, especially before
storage (for example, before the winter period),
regarding wear and damages.
For safety reasons, replace worn out or damaged parts
immediately so the unit is always in perfect working
conditions.
Cleaning:
In order to avoid fire hazards, the ventilation slots and
exhaust must remain completely clean and free of any
debris.
The tiller must be carefully cleaned after each use.
Release the debris inlaid with a wooden splint.
The lower part of the machine can be cleaned with a
high-pressure washer or a steam washer. Keep a
minimum distance of 1m and never point water jets
directly to the support/holders and sealing gaskets, in
particular, the sealing gasket between the transmission
crankcase and the guard plate.
Do not use aggressive cleaning products. These
products
may
damage
plastics
and
metals,
compromising the safe operation of the tiller.
Maintenance:
Only maintenance works described in this instruction
manual may be carried out; all other works must be
performed by an official dealer.
If you lack the necessary knowledge and means, always
contact an official dealer.
Use only VITO-approved tools or accessories for this
tiller or technically identical parts. Not doing so may
result in personal injuries or damages to the device. In
case of doubt, you should contact an official dealer.
For safety reasons, the fuel system components (hose,
tap, tank, tank cap and connections/couplings) should
be inspected regularly regarding damage and leaks. If
necessary, they should be replaced by an official dealer.
Always keep warning and information stickers clean and
legible.
Keep all nuts, split pins and screws well tightened in
order to ensure a safe operation.
If any components or safety devices are removed for
maintenance works, they must be repositioned
immediately.
When replacing the tines, pay attention to the type of
tines and if they match. Only use VITO-authorized
versions.
