THE FLAMINGO
DESCRIPTION
Violet Design's top line - "THE FLAMINGO” series of vacuum tube studio
microphones is designed for high-end audio recording. "THE FLAMINGO
STANDARD" model uses large dual diaphragm dual backplate true
electrostatic capsule, providing classic vintage tube microphone sound.
"THE FLAMINGO VINTAGE" model uses large dual diaphragm common
backplate capsule, providing sweet warm vintage tube microphone vocal
sound. "THE FLAMINGO ME" model uses extra large irregular ear shape
transducer, providing unique sweet warm and resonance free vocal sound.
Two side open transducer head's construction reduces internal reflection
and optimizes polar pattern. “THE FLAMINGO” introduces a new physical
design in the microphone industry. The internal shockmount of transducer,
original construction head's shockmount and included compact external
shockmount, together with microphone's massive body construction
reduce close to zero stand rumble and outside infrasonic interference.
Vacuum tube is mounted on separate shockmount to reduce tubes
“microphonical” effect. The internal vacuum tube preamplifier is based on
class-A fully discrete circuit, providing high output, flat response and ultra
low distortion and noise. Vacuum tube is mounted inside a massive heat
sink to stabilize tube's thermal regime. The microphone's internal
preamplifier is powered from a smart external power supply unit, providing
stabilized and protected polarization, plate and heater DC voltages. The
custom made carefully shielded large audio transformer balances output
circuit, separates microphone from external RF interference and adds
some additional “analog warmth” to the sound.
