A few easy steps to keeping your toaster looking and working like new:

1.

Always allow the toaster to cool before cleaning and always unplug it
from the wall outlet. There is no need to disassemble the toaster for
cleaning. Never immerse the toaster in water.

2.

Slide out the crumb tray, discard the crumbs and wipe the tray with a
clean cloth. Do not use a scouring pad or steel wool, as this will damage
the housing finish. Do not use abrasive cleaners that will scratch the
surface of the toaster. A little metal polish suitable for stainless steel
may be used occasionally.

For best results, follow these simple instructions. Note that when your toaster is
new, you may notice some slight smoking or odor. This is normal with many
heating appliances and will not recur. This does not affect the safety of your
appliance.

1.

Plug in the toaster.

2.

Select your desired toasting level from 1 to 5 with the control dial. The
higher the number, the browner the toast will be. Toasting is affected by
the temperature of the bread (refrigerated or at room temperature), the
moisture content, and freshness and thickness of the bread slice.

3.

Place the bread in the slots and press down on the lift control knob.
This lift control will automatically pop up when your toasting cycle is
complete. If you wish to stop toasting in mid-cycle, just push the cancel
button and the lift control will pop up.

Do not force the lift control up by hand, as this can damage the toaster.
Instead, always push the cancel button to get the toaster to pop up
before the automatic cycle has completed.

Sometimes when toasting many slices one after another, the lift control
may not lock down immediately, and you may hear a buzzing sound.
This means that the toaster’s thermostat has not had time to reset itself.
Simply wait a few seconds and try again.

4.

If your bread gets stuck during toasting, push the cancel button and
unplug the toaster, allowing it to cool completely before attempting to
remove the bread. Do not insert knives, forks or other utensils into the
toaster, as as this will pose a risk of electrical shock and may damage the
heating elements and toaster mechanism.
