Security
Three codes prevent unauthorised access to your
heating system via the Vitocom 100:
PIN
Further information can be found in chapter
"Terminology" in the appendix.
■
The PIN is specific to the inserted SIM card and is
stored in the Vitocom 100.
■
The PIN is a 4 digit number that cannot be modified
by an SMS.
■
Once a PIN has been entered it remains perma-
nently in force, even after a power failure.
PUK
Further information can be found in chapter
"Terminology" in the appendix.
If the PIN code has been incorrectly entered several
times, the PUK of the SIM card must be entered (see
page 19).
Access code
■
The access code is a feature of the Vitocom 100,
independent of the SIM card used.
■
The 4-digit access code is preset to
"1111"
in the
delivered condition.
■
You can change it by SMS with the "code" command
(see page 15). Immediately after entering them,
the Vitocom 100 will automatically send new access
codes by SMS to both programmed mobile phone
numbers.
■
The access code must be entered at the start of
each SMS to the Vitocom 100 (not for the "pass-
word" command).
Note
If you have forgotten your access code, you can check
it with the "password" command, see page 15.
Note
For improved access security, we recommend chang-
ing the access code after commissioning the
Vitocom 100 and after executing the SMS command
"password" (see page 15).
How to use the controls
SMS commands
The Vitocom 100 is operated solely by SMS messages
via a mobile phone.
Observe the following principles when sending an
SMS to the Vitocom 100:
■
The access code must always be at the start of the
SMS command.
■
Several SMS commands can be combined into one
SMS (except for "reset" commands).
■
A
space
þ
is always required between the access
code and one or more commands.
■
The text length of an SMS command is restricted to
70 characters
. If the text is longer it will be trimmed
after the final permitted character.
■
SMS commands may be composed in upper or lower
case.
