5.10 Emergency operation
5.10.1 EMERGENCY STOP
●
In an emergency, press the EMERGENCY STOP
button on the control panel.
This shuts down the engine, but the pumps and
fans run on to dissipate the accumulated heat.
When the EMERGENCY STOP button is pressed,
it is locked and the CHP unit is secured against
unauthorised restarting.
Resetting is only possible by a qualified person
with a key.
●
Automatic stop:
triggered by a machine fault. It shuts down the
engine but the pumps and fans run on.
●
If possible, close the gas shut-off ball valve on the
gas supply in the plant room.
●
Correct the faults in accordance with section 5.11.

5.10.2 What to do if gas escapes
DANGER
Escaping gas due to leaks in the gas
supply!
Risk to life due to explosion or
poisoning
► No naked flames. Do not smoke.
► Prevent sparking (do not use any
electric switches, plugs, telephones
or bells).
●
Close the main gas shut-off facility.
●
Open doors.
●
Leave the danger zone and warn people in the
surrounding area.
●
Phone a specialist company from outside the
danger zone.
●
In the event of other hazards, close the main gas
shut-off facility immediately and isolate the system
from the power supply (press EMERCENCY
STOP).
●
The overriding, bypassing or removal of safety
equipment is prohibited!
5.10.3 What to do if there is a fire
DANGER
Fire and smoke in the vicinity of the
machine!
Death or irreversible injury due to
burns or asphyxiation
► Keep calm and give immediate first
aid to anyone who is injured.
► Distance yourself from the seat of fire
and warn people in the surrounding
area.
► Call the fire brigade.
Fire extinguishing equipment
●
Use CO
2
extinguishers, NOT water, due to the
potential presence of live components.
●
Thermally actuated gas shut-off device closes the
gas supply to the EM-530/660 (versions SCR and
SCR-ready) in the case of fire at temperatures
above 100 °C.
●
Always close the gas shut-off valve manually.
