Sidestand
Sidestand Lubrication
1. Bring the motorcycle to a vertical position with an appropriate motorcycle lift or a block of wood or steel
placed securely under the frame.
2. Move the sidestand to its stored (up) position.
Wear face protection. The sidestand return spring is under tension and can injure your eyes and face
when released.
WARNING
3. Hold the nut and remove the sidestand pivot bolt and sidestand return spring.
4. Wipe any old grease and dirt from the sidestand, frame, and pivot bolt.
5. Lubricate the sidestand, the pivot bolt, and the ends of spring with VICTORY All Purpose Grease or equivalent.
6. Reinstall the sidestand spring and place the sidestand on the mounting boss, with the stand in the stored (up)
position.
7. Install the pivot bolt and tighten to specified torque while holding the nut.
Torque: 35 ft-lbs (47 Nm)
8. Check to be sure the sidestand moves freely through its pivot range.
