 Performance Guide

Overview

The resolution and the frame rate are selected during camera configuration
using the camera’s web browser interface. These two parameters are inter-
related and have an impact on the quality of the video and the use of system
resources.

When setting up the camera, Vicon recommends setting Stream 3 the same
as Stream 2. In the tables below, Stream 2 is set to M-JPEG and 1 fps. A
typical installation would find these settings adequate.

The following tables provide the resolutions and maximum frame rates for the
cameras. These numbers are based on the following conditions and show
the actual fps per stream as well as the maximum for the whole camera.

Note

Setting the camera to a certain fps does not guarantee getting that fps
(camera processing capabilities must be taken into account); therefore there
is a difference between the set conditions and the results.

Conditions

STREAM 1

H.264 30 fps 4 Mbps

STREAM 2
