Configuration

This chapter details configuration of the VN-306T using the VN Setup Software and remotely from a
Workstation. For VN-306T full operation details, refer to manual

XX113-0X

, ViconNet Software.

VNSetup Configuration

General

The VN-306T server is factory configured to operate on any Ethernet network as it is connected to it.

The initial configuration of parameters must be done using dedicated configuration software called

VNSetup

. Before running VNSetup, verify that the VN-306T is connected directly to a PC/Workstation

without a router. A router will sometimes block the communication between the PC and the VN-306T.

Method

The VNSetup software is designed to locate all VN-306T units on the LAN and to enable initial IP
configuration even if there is no IP connection yet.

The VNSetup is a standalone program that can be run on any PC on the network even if it is not running
the ViconNet software.
