GENERAL
The
Illuminator may be mounted on Vicon
medium- or heavy-duty pan and tilt drives or
scanners, and may be installed permanently on
walls, poles, or horizontal surfaces using
Vicon wall- or pedestal-mounts. See Figure 1,
V
Mounting Plate.
The unit should be installed in such a way as
to achieve uniform illumination over the
entire area to be observed. Since light
energy diminishes with the square of the
distance from the illuminator to an object,
uniform illumination will not be attained if
there is too great a difference in the
distance between the illuminator and the
objects to be observed. Therefore, the
illuminator should be positioned at
approximately equal distances from the main
objects of interest in the area.
FIXED MOUNTING
The illuminator may be mounted on any firm
horizontal surface. The underside of the
illuminator is provided with two
mounting holes. (See Figure 2.) It is also
provided with a centrally located mounting
slot which can be used for mounting the
illuminator on any Vicon wall or pedestal
mount. Use a
bolt to mount to these
units.
When the unit is mounted, aim it directly at
the scene to be illuminated and tighten the
mounting hardware.
