Introduction
The information in this manual covers the installation and setup of the V4-H-P Pendant Housing for the Surveyor4
Fixed-Position Camera Domes. This unit should be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials in
accordance with national, state and local codes. Read these instructions through completely before attempting
installation.
The V4-H-P provides indoor pendant mounting for the Surveyor4 Fixed-Position Camera Domes. Refer to Installation
and Operation Manual XX028 for Surveyor4 Camera Domes complete installation instructions. The pendant housing
was designed for use with any mount that supports the total weight of the Surveyor4 and V4-H-P and adapts to a 1-
inch NPT pipe thread. Refer to Installation and Operation Manual for the selected mount for specific mounting
information.
Installation
When the Surveyor4 Dome Camera requires an indoor pendant configuration, it must be installed in a V4-H-P
pendant housing. The mounting surface must provide suitable strength to support the weight of the Surveyor4 and
the V4-H-P combined, which is approximately 3.2 lb (1.5 kg). Be sure the area in the selected location is clear of
obstacles (such as steel beams, headers, pipes, electrical wiring, etc.), which would interfere with mounting. Video
and power cables must be routed to the location. Follow the steps below and refer to Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4.
1. Install the selected mount using appropriate hardware for the installation surface and run the cables through it
according to instruction manual for the mount.
2. Run the cables to the Surveyor4 according to the installation manual (XX028).
3. Remove the electrical box from the Surveyor4 assembly by removing the two (2) screws that secure it to the
enclosure and discard.
4. Align the keyholes on the Surveyor4 enclosure with the 8-32 screws on the V4-H-P mounting plate (loosen is
necessary) and attach the enclosure to the mounting plate. See Figure 2.
5. Screw the V4-H-P assembly onto the wall mount.
6. Connect the cables to the connectors on the enclosure. See Figure 4. (Use an isolated power source.)
7. Continue with the instructions in the Surveyor4 installation manual for camera configuration.
