2.8.5. JP5: Clear CMOS
Type: 2 pin
Default: Open
If you have made an improper setting in the BIOS setup and your computer is
not functioning, or if you have forgotten your Supervisor and/or User pass-
word, you can use this jumper, JP5, to clear the CMOS and to reconfigure your
system page:
To clear the CMOS, please follow these instructions:
1.
Turn the system power “OFF” and unplug your computer.
2.
Insert the jumper cap on Pin 1 and Pin 2 for 3 ~ 5 seconds.
3.
Pull out the jumper cap and remain Pin 1 and Pin 2 open.
4. Turn your PC on and run the BIOS setup program.
2.8.6. JP6: Clear Password
Type: 3 pin
Default: Pin 1 and Pin 2 short
If you forget your keyboard power-on password you can use JP6 to clear it
from the I/O chip (where it is stored). To do this you must:
1. Turn the system power “OFF” and unplug your computer.
2. Insert the jumper cap on Pin 2 and Pin 3 for 3 ~ 5 seconds.
3. Pull out the jumper cap and replace it on Pin 1 and Pin 2.
4. Turn your PC on and run the BIOS setup program.
