Safety measures
Warning indications
Where applicable, the following warning indications are used in this
manual in connection with safety:

Indicates that the usage procedures, actions etc. concerned can re-

Maintenance
Here are some guidelines for daily and periodic maintenance.

Only carry out all maintenance work with the motor stopped
and the electrical system switched off .
Every 10 hours or daily, before starting
• Check the ventilation of the motor compartment. Make sure the
motor is in a dry, well-ventilated, area.
• Check the state of charge of the batteries.
After the first 50 hours
• Check flexible motor mounts
• Check that all cable connections, bolts and nuts are tight
Every 100 hours, at least once a year
• Check batteries, cable connections, bolts and nuts
Every 500 hours, at least once a year
• Control flexible motor mounts
• Check cable connections and fasteners

Take out of service -
prepare for winter
Follow the instructions below if the E-Air motor is to be taken out
of service for a long time. Long-term means a period longer than 3
months, for example during the winter period.
Make sure the motor compartment is ventilated. Good ventilation
prevents moisture in the motor compartment. This prevents corro-
sion.
Carry out the necessary maintenance work before taking the motor
out of service for a long time. Checks and maintenance work to be
carried out:
• Make sure the motor compartment is completely dry and mois-
ture-free.
• Check that there is sufficient ventilation.
• Clean the motor with a cloth.

Introduction
This manual gives guidelines for the use of the VETUS E-Air electric
motor, type ‘EAIR04024’ , ‘EAIR040’ and ‘EAIR060’.
The E-Drive system consists of five modules:
- Propulsion
- Control
- Energy monitoring
- Energy storage
- Energy supply
Within these five modules, several options and combinations are
possible.

Please consult the user manuals of all components before using
the E-Drive system.
Unauthorised modifications shall exclude the liability of the manu-
facturer for any resulting damage .
• During use ensure the correct battery voltage is available.
