Spark plug dismantlement (03_07, 03_08, 03_09, 03_10)
In order to inspect the spark plug, follow the operation described when the engine is
cold:
1.
Lift the saddle and remove the helmet compartment «
A
».
2.
Remove the spark plug inspection door «
B
».
3.
Detach the spark plug cap.
4.
Slide the door «
C
» on the engine cover upwards and off.
5.
Remove the spark plug with the spanner «
D
» supplied (with retaining rubber ring).
To refit, repeat the procedure in reverse order using the spanner to insert the spark
plug or to tighten it in its seat. Care should be taken to installing and fixing it with correct
inclination
Be extremely careful when carrying out the operations described above, insert your
left hand on the spark plug inspection door side and your right hand from the helmet
compartment side.
To refit the door follow the steps in reverse order, making sure to insert the pin in the
central cover.
CAUTION
THE SPARK PLUG MUST BE REMOVED WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. THE USE
OF SPARK PLUGS OF DIFFERENT THERMAL GRADE FROM THAT REQUIRED
OR WITH INAPPROPRIATE THREADS MAY SERIOUSLY DAMAGE THE ENGINE.
N.B.
THE USE OF SPARK PLUGS OTHER THAN THE INDICATED TYPE OR OF
SHIELDLESS SPARK PLUG CAPS CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAIL-
URES.
