The Beacon Request Call mode allows you to inquire as to the signal quality between your
transceiver and another specific transceiver (before placing an individual/group call).
Preparation
Press the [
]/[
] button to select the channel to be used for the Beacon Request
Call.
Disable the VOX and Clarifier features, if necessary.
Press the [
SELCALL
] button (the [
P
ROGRAMMABLE
] button which assigned “Selcall”
function) briefly to activate the Selcall system. The “
” icon will be illuminated
on the LCD display.
Sending a Beacon Request Call
Press the [
CALL
] button (the [
P
ROGRAMMABLE
] button which assigned “Call” func-
tion), then press the [
]/[
] button to select the ID number of the station to be called
using Selcall. Available IDs are: the last-received ID, ten pre-programmed IDs, and
“Auxiliary,” whereby you enter the desired ID using the Allow ([
]/[
]/[
]/[
])
buttons. To enter the desired ID, press the [
]/[
] button to select “
AUX ID
”, press
the [
] button, then enter the 4-digit ID number by the [
]/[
] (move the cursor)
and the [
]/[
] (select number) buttons; finally press the [
CALL
] button again.
Press the [
CALL
] button briefly to enter the Call Menu.
Press the [
]/[
] button to select “
BCN REQ
”.
Press the [
CALL
] button again to transmit the Beacon Request Call.
If the Beacon Request call is successful, the “Answer” signal from the called station
will be heard.
