Upload the configuration data from the VX-450 to the Computer by the “Upload” param-
eter in the “Radio” menu tab.

Click the left mouse button on the large
[SETUP] button, then set each parameter on
the “SETUP” tab. Refer to the CE104 Help
files regarding the details of the function of
each parameter.

When finished changing the settings, down-
load the configuration data from the Com-
puter to the VX-450 by selecting the “Down-
load” parameter in the “Radio” menu tab.

Programming is now complete. Perform the
alignment of the Man Down sensor of the
DVS-9, if needed.

: The DVS-9 is adjusted at the factory. Therefore, the DVS-9 does not need
adjustment normally. Adjust the DVS-9 when the operation is abnormal.

Place (not lay down) the VX-450 on a hori-
zontal surface.
r
Click the left mouse button on the large
[ALIGNMENT] button, then click the [START]
button to open the “Angle Initialize” window.
r
Click the left mouse button on the [OK] but-
ton to initiate the alignment.
r
When the alignment is successful, click the
left mouse button on the [OK] button to ter-
minate the alignment.
r
Alignment is now complete. Close the
CE104 Programming Software and turn off the VX-450 by
rotating the VOL/PWR knob fully counter-clockwise.

The CE104 and CE115 Programming Software are needed to program the DVS-9. Install
the CE104 and CE115 to your computer in advance.

Connect the VX-450 transceiver (with the DVS-9 installed) to your computer with the
FIF-10A USB Programming Interface and CT-106 Programming Cable or the CT-42A
Programming Cable.

Execute the CE115 Programming Software, then upload the configuration data from the
VX-450 to the Computer by selecting the “Upload” parameter in the “Radio” menu tab.
r
Click the left mouse button on the “Key Function” param-
eter in the “Common” menu tab to open the “Key Function”
window.
r
Assign the “Option SW 2” (for activating/disabling the “Man
Down” function), assign the “REC”, and “PLAY” functions
to the desired keys, then click the [OK] button to close the
“Key Function” window.
r
If you want to edit the “Emergency” parameter after the
“Man Down” function is activated, select
the “Emergency” parameter in the “Com-
mon” menu tab. Refer to the CE115 Help
files regarding the details of the function of
each parameter. When finished changing
the settings, click the [OK] button to close
the “Emergency” window.

Click the left mouse button on the “Option” param-
eter in the “Common” menu tab to open the “Option”
window. Confirm the “Option Unit” parameter is set
to “DVS-9”.
r
Set each parameter of the “REC Mode”, “Play Pri-
ority”, and “Power ON REC” to the desired function, then click the [OK] button to close
the “Option” window. Refer to the CE115 Help files regarding the details of the function
of each parameter.

When finished changing the settings, download the configuration data from the Com-
puter to the VX-450 by selecting the “Download” parameter in the “Radio” menu tab.

Close the CE115 Programming Software and turn off the VX-450.

Execute the CE104 Programming Software.
r
Rotate the VOL/PWR knob clockwise while pressing and holding the TOP SEL and PTT
keys to turn on the VX-450 in the “Sub Clone” mode.
In the VX-451, a series of beeps will be heard to indicate the radio is in the “Sub Clone”
mode.
In the VX-454/-459, the “SUBCLONE” notation will appear on the
display and a series of beeps will be heard to indicate the radio is in
the “Sub Clone” mode.

The reference direction of the DVS-9 sensor is the same direction of the setting sta-
tus of the VX-450 when you adjusted it.
For example, If you adjust the VX-450 in the status that lay it down, reference direc-
tion of the DVS-9 sensor becomes horizontal.
