RESPONSIBILITIES / SAFETY
A safe attitude is very important to you, the operator.
Practice anticipating accidents and operating hazards.
Then determine a corrective course of action to
respond to the situation. This habit will sharpen your
safety awareness, quicken your reaction time, and
prevent many accidents.
THINK SAFETY
The following sketches illustrate some of the unsafe
situations that might occur during the use or operation
of the
Versalift
. Some of these safety problems are
very basic and as a result are often taken for granted.
Always engage the outriggers, and maintain the
correct tire pressure to increase vehicle stability.
Always wear a personnel restraint system
attached to the lanyard anchor.
Don’t park the truck on a hill unless absolutely
necessary. When the truck is parked on a slope,
take the special precautions defined in Chapter
4, “Operation”.
Remember to set the parking brake and chock
the truck’s wheels.
Watch the booms to make sure they clear the
truck and other obstructions.
