Pull the height adjust selector lever outward to
release the tab on the height adjuster bracket from
the slot on the height adjust selector plate (D).
3. Raise or lower the selector lever to the desired
cutting height and insert the adjuster bracket tab
into the slot on the selector plate. The decal (E)
on the side of the carrier frame lists the height
settings along with the approximate cutting
height for easy reference.
4. Release the selector lever from the height adjuster
bracket and rotate down to the deck level.
Front Roller Position
The front roller on the mower deck has two mounting
positions. The correct mounting position is dependent
on the selected cutting height. To prevent scalping,
mount the front roller in the recommended position.
Position A
Position B
If the cutting height
is set at 1-7/8”
(48 mm) or lower,
mount the front
roller in
Position A
.
If the cutting height
is set at 2” (51 mm)
or higher, mount
the front roller in
Position B
.
Cutting Height Range Position
The HM/HP series mower decks are designed with
two cutting height range positions. The cutting height
ranges for the standard and high positions are
listed on the specifications page of this manual. The
standard, factory-set position uses the lower cutting
range. To change the cutting height range position of
your mower deck, follow the instructions below.
1. Place the height adjuster bracket in setting #13
and detach the mower deck from the power unit.
2. Place 3” (76 mm) high blocks under the deck
at each side and at the front, close to, but not
underneath, the front roller.
3. Move the height adjuster bracket to position #1
so the deck is resting on the blocks.
4.
Remove the flange nuts (A) from the height
adjustment linkage bolts and move the adjust-
ment linkages to the desired position. The lower
hole (B) is the standard position and the upper
hole (C) is the high position.
