WT203 – Radio-Controlled Alarm Clock with Calendar,
Daycount and Thermometer Functions
1. Introduction
The WT203 is controlled by a coded radio signal containing information obtained from the
Caesium Atomic Clock at the Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology in Brunswick,
Germany. This clock has a projected deviation of one second every one million years. The
coded signal is transmitted by the official German time signal transmitter DCF77 in Frankfurt.
The WT203 incorporates the latest in digital electronic technology. We advise you to read this
user manual carefully. This will enable you to maximise the advantages of your new WT203.
2. Installing
Batteries
Remove the cover of the battery compartment, insert 2 AA-batteries and replace the cover.
Observe the polarity indications !
3. Automatic Synchronisation
The date and the time on the display of the WT203 will automatically be synchronised with the
information transmitted by the DCF77-signal when the batteries are installed. This is indicated
by a blinking "tower" symbol. The "tower" symbol will remain lit as soon as a complete and
correct signal is received. If this has not happened within five minutes, the unit will temporarily
leave the synchronisation mode and try again on the hour until the signal is received. Once
synchronised, the unit will update its information every day at 4:00 AM.
The WT203 will continue to operate as a highly precise quartz clock if reception of the DCF-
signal proves impossible or difficult. Those users who live outside the Central European Time
(CET) zone may have to adjust the time manually after synchronisation has been achieved.
