11. FAQ
1. I do not have a network or internet connection. Can I still use the VWS2?
Yes, you can connect the
VWS2
directly to your PC or notebook for remote control and video storage purposes.
2. Can I use ISDN to connect to the VWS2?
No ; the
VWS2
can only be connected via ADSL or cable modem. It does not support ISDN connection.
However, a router that supports ISDN, RJ-45 and port forwarding, can be used with the
VWS2
.
3. What kind of frame rate can be expected?
This depends on the bandwidth and the average image size.
The formula to calculate the frame rate is: bandwidth / (8 x average image size) = number of images per second.
The average image size is: CIF: low=6Kb ; middle=9Kb ; high=12Kb ; VGA: low=24Kb ; middle=36Kb ; high=48Kb
Example: at a 512Kbs bandwidth and low CIF image quality (1 image = 6kb),
the frame rate is: 512 / (8x6) = 512 / 48 = 10.6 images/second.
