Decide how you want to run the
cable of both sensors into the boot.
After running the cables into the
boot, you should connect the 2
cables with, respectively, connection
A & B of the main unit (fig. 4).
Connections C & D are for extra
sensors. Tie up any surplus of cable
with adhesive tape (fig. 8).
b) Installation of the Main Unit and the Buzzer
Install the buzzer using the included velcro tape. Select a location that will enable the driver to
hear the buzzer clearly (e.g. in the boot). Use the velcro tape again to mount the main unit in the
boot. Select a spot that offers protection against high temperatures, humidity, water and loads
that may shift during transit. We therefore recommend attaching the main unit to the side of the
boot.
c) Connecting the Main Unit
Connect the red cable with the (+) connection of the reversing light. Connect the black cable
with the (-) connection of the reversing light or with the chassis (strip the chassis of all paint in
the mounting location, thereby connecting the black cable with bare metal). Connect the buzzer
with the main unit's no. 1 connector.
Note that additional sensors (SPBS2/SENS) can be
connected. However, these are NOT included (see fig. 4 on p. 2).
d) Testing the SPBS2
Turn the ignition and put the car into reverse. Position yourself far enough behind the rear of the
car and slowly start walking toward it. This will enable you to test the sensitivity of the sensor
and confirm the distances at which the three beeps start to sound.
Remark : This system is designed to assist drivers but the driver is still ultimately
responsible for any accidents that may occur.
