C
C2 byte
Path Signal Label byte. This byte specifies the mapping type in the VC-N.
CBS
Committed Burst Size. In Y.1564, CBS is the number of allocated bytes available for
bursts of ingress service frames transmitted at temporary rates above the
guarantees provided at the CIR.
CFP4
100Gbps Form-factor Pluggable, version 4. A compact, hot-pluggable transceiver used
for both telecommunication and data communications applications up to 100Gbps,
compliant to the 100GBASE-LR4 specifications in the IEEE P802.3ba standard. A CFP4
module multiplexes four 25Gbps electrical data channels, referred to as Physical Lanes,
into a single 100Gbps channel for optical transmission.
CFP8
400Gbps Form-factor Pluggable, version 8. A compact, hot-pluggable transceiver used
for both telecommunication and data communications applications up to 400Gbps. A
CFP8 supports eight times and two times the bandwidth-density of CFP and CFP4 form
factors, respectively. The CFP8 interface multiplexes up to 16 electrical data channels,
referred to as Physical Lanes, with nominal signaling rates of 25Gb/s or 26Gb/s per
lane, and either NRZ or PAM4 signaling, into a single 400Gbps channel for optical
transmission.
cHEC
Core Header Error Checksum.
CIR
Committed Information Rate. In Y.1564, the CIR can be interpreted as the maximum
sustained information rate (bandwidth) that the network is committed to transfer while
meeting the performance level guaranteed in the service level agreement (SLA).
Performance metrics in terms of
are applicable only to those frames
that are transmitted at or below the CIR.
CLK
Indicates the timing source for the transmit signal. The timing source is set using the
Clock Reference
function. This is a status indicator.
