EMERGENCY ELECTRICAL SHUTDOWN
Note:
Emergency Electrical Shutdown should only be used
under emergency conditions
when it is necessary to disable system electrical functions and sources. For most shutdown
conditions it is preferable to perform a maintenance shutdown, where vacuum pumps are
still running and computers are still operating.
The emergency shutdown mode should
be used only when there is a suspected problem associated with the electrical
system, such as a fire, a possibility of electrocution, or an explosion.
