Overview
Table 10 shows the tools you can use to manage the set top box. Each tool is best suited for
specific tasks. For example, use the Setup program to configure DHCP settings or Telnet for
an upgrade.

Telnet
To get the
channels.xml file
or the
config.txt
file you will need to use Telnet, SSH, or a
similar tool. Telnet is particularly important if you are unable to access the device through
other means. For example the box can lock up, freeze, or hang if you enter erroneous or
incompatible setup parameters. If this happens, Telnet may be the only way to recover. To
change the Telnet password see Web Interface on page 31.
