QUICK START GUIDE: Phocheck Tiger

This guide is meant to serve as a quick reference for operating the Phocheck Tiger PID. It is for your convenience
and is not intended to replace the information found in the Operations Manual provided.

Conditions of Use
Although this is a field meter this is still an electronic device. When onsite
we recommend you treat this equipment the way you would treat your
mobile. BE AWARE; all PID meters are sensitive to moisture.
Before you start your PID, ensure:
1.
The moisture filter is clean and dry.
2. You are in a fresh air environment.
Operation
1. Turn on the meter - it will run through its own start-up and test
procedure. N.B. for most accurate results allow the meter to warm up
for a further 5-10 minutes.
2.
Your PID is calibrated to isobutylene and configured to display “AS IF”
isobutylene.
3.
If you block the nose cone with your finger, the meter should alarm
to let you know it is not sucking in air anymore. This is a pump stall test
to verify the meter is not drawing air from somewhere other than the
nosecone. If the meter does not stall, contact Van Walt Ltd.
Bump Test
1.
Using the A and B soft keys, select the “i” option from the on-screen
menu. Check that Isobutylene is your selected gas.
2. Attach isobutylene bottle provided to the meter using regulator
provided.
3. Turn on gas and check the measurements.
4.
The gas bottle contains 100ppm isobutylene. Van Walt Ltd ensures that
the meter is displaying within 10% of the published value on the bottle
on the day we send it out to you. If you deem the drift to be outside
acceptable limits please contact Van Walt for advice.
5. After bump testing please ensure the regulator is closed and removed
from the bottle.

EXCESSIVE USE OF ISOBUTYLENE GAS MAY BE CHARGED FOR.
