General Notes Regarding Conversion
The conversion may be done before or after the
appliance is installed into the cavity. However, if the unit
has been installed, it must be removed from the cavity
(see below). Also, the gas must be connected to set the
manifold pressure.
Prepare the Appliance
1. Locate gas shut o
ff
valve and isolate gas supply.
2. Remove any installed trims, fronts, and doors.
3. Remove the window.
4. If the
fi
replace is already installed:
a. Remove the fuel bed. Be careful with fuel bed
as components are fra
g
ile.
b. Remove liner panels.
c. Disconnect the exhaust slide screws (2 screws
at top front of unit).
d. Pull the unit out while disconnectin
g
the
exhaust slide. Leave the vents and slider
han
g
in
g
in the chimney.
5. Remove left shroud (2 screws).
6. Remove the side cover (2 screws at left, 3 at the
front).
7. Remove burner cover (2 screws).
