INSTALLATION OF MASTER STATION
(SPECIAL ORDER ONLY)
Timber Frame Wall Not Yet Lined
Install the master wall box flush with the front of the stud and brace
it so as
to limit any movement of the box when fitting the master station.
After the wall has been lined, cut out an opening to the inside dimensions of
the wall box.
Timber Frame Wall Already Lined
Cut out an opening in the wall lining (H 12 ¾” x W 10 5/8”) ½” away
from a wall stud.
Slide in the master wall box side ways, then straighten it up and firmly nail
it to the stud so that it is flush with the front of the stud.
Pull the cables through the wall box.
Strip back approximately 6” of the white insulation from all the Valet
Intercom cables.
Twist the wires together according to their colours and trim to equal
length.
Strip back to bare wire approximately 1 ¼” off the end of each of the
individual coloured wires and twist the bared wires together according to
their colours.
Cut 4” sections of multistrand single core cable, strip one end of
these sections to 1 ¼”.
Twist one of these to each of the coloured groups of intercom cable.
Solder and insulate the connections
Strip and firmly twist the other end of each of the single core multistrand cables,
and screw into the appropriate terminals at the rear of the master.
Terminate Aerial, Power Supply, Input Jack and Auxiliary Control wires where
applicable.
Ensure all outer shield wires are insulated and terminated at the appropriate
terminal.
Brick Cavity Wall
Remove bricks and install wall box.
For homes under construction, install wall box as brick work is going up.

per ‘Timber Frame Walls’.
