Care and maintenance
Clean the appliance only when it has completely cooled down.
Risk of burns!
Always clean the appliance after use. This prevents food residue from burning on. Dried-
on or burned-on food is harder to clean off.
Use of improper cleaning techniques can result in damage to the markings or surface.
5.1
Cleaning the Teppan Yaki plate
Do not clean the Teppan Yaki plate in the dishwasher!
This can discolour or corrode the material.
▸ Use only a soft cloth or sponge with water and a non-abrasive detergent suitable for
metal surfaces for cleaning everyday soiling. Always follow the detergent manufac-
turer’s instructions for use.
▸ Dried-on soiling can be removed more easily if the Teppan Yaki plate is soaked in
soapy water for a few hours before cleaning. This will soften the soiling.
▸ For stubborn soiling, e.g. grease splashes, clean the Teppan Yaki plate when cold
with a grease-dissolving spray cleaner or cream cleaner in accordance with the manu-
facturer’s instructions.
▸ Remove limescale stains and blue tarnish spots when cool with a small amount of
limescale remover, e.g. vinegar or lemon juice. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
The surface of the Teppan Yaki plate can become discoloured through overheat-
ing.
This will not affect the functioning of the Teppan Yaki plate in any way however.
Safety during operation is also guaranteed.
5.2
Cleaning the frame for the Teppan Yaki plate
Do not clean the frame for the Teppan Yaki plate in the dishwasher!
▸ Clean the wooden handles each time after use with a damp cloth (no detergent ne-
cessary).
▸ Clean the metal frame in the same way as the Teppan Yaki plate (see page 8).
