Troubleshooting Procedures
The following table presents symptoms and solutions for problems potentially encountered when
installing the PD1200 Pole Display.
Symptom
Solutions
The pole display does
not have power.
•
For UT28XX POS Systems, if the pole has an RS232 connector,
make sure it is not plugged into the COM1 port. There is no +5 on
pin 9 of this port. Use the COM2 -6 ports.
•
If using a wall transformer, make sure it is plugged into the AC
power source and into the power jack on the pole interface cable.
Meaningless characters
appear on the pole
display when I run my
application.
•
For RS232 Devices, check the baud-rate settings for the application
to ensure that they match the settings for the pole display.
