GCI Graphic Annunciator Interface Card
Installation Sheet
EN ES FR PT
EN: Installation Sheet
Description
The GCI Graphic Annunciator Interface Card connects a
compatible UL/ULC Listed fire alarm control panel (FACP) to
an LED-based graphic annunciator.
The GCI card provides:
•
Five dedicated switch inputs for common controls
•
Sixteen programmable switch inputs
•
Eleven dedicated LED outputs for power, common
controls, system status, and enable controls indicators
•
Thirty-two programmable LED outputs for zone or device
status indicators
•
A buzzer that sounds when the control panel activates an
event
The GCI card does not provide ground fault isolation.
The GCI card ships with a mounting track and connector
hardware.
The GCI card can support up to eight GCIX graphic
annunciator expanders, however this number is determined by
the control panel.
Installation
1. Attach the GCI card by screwing the mounting track to the
backbox. It is not necessary to remove the GCI card.
2. Set DIP switch S1 as required. See “DIP switch settings”
for details.
3. Connect the field wires, switches, and LEDs as required.
See “Wiring” on page 2 for details.
4. If you are connecting a remote key switch, remove the
jumper from the EXT SW pins, and attach the remote key
switch connector to the pins.
DIP switch settings
The GCI card provides an 8-segment DIP switch for setting the
card address, the baud rate, and the type of annunciator circuit
to which it is connected.
Note:
Switch segment 8 is not used.
Card address
Use switch segments 1 to 5 to set the GCI card’s card address
(in binary) as shown in Table 1 below. Possible vlaues: 1 to 31.
Example: For address 3, set S1-1 and S1-2 to the ON position,
and set S1-3, S1-4, and S1-5 to the OFF position.

Baud rate
Use switch segment 6 to set the GCI card’s baud rate as
shown in Table 2 on page 2. This setting must match the baud
rate setting on the control panel.
