Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrester
screen.
Inspect the spark arrester screen for holes or tears. Replace if
necessary.
Check the muffler gasket; replace if damaged.
Reinstall the muffler gasket, the spark arrester, the muffler and the
muffler protector in the reverse order of removal.
