Low Pressure Switch
The low pressure switch shuts off the system when the feed water pressure drops below 15 PSI, preventing
damage to the pump. The system restarts automatically when there is a constant pressure of 30 PSI or more.
NOTE:
If
you
notice
the
pressure
fluctuating,
and
the
system
cycling
off
and
on,
turn
the
system
off
and
ensure
that
proper

and
pressure
are

to
the
system.
Pump Throttle Valve
This valve is installed as a standard feature on the Defender reverse osmosis systems. It provides an adjust-
ment for pump pressure, which will vary as the required system pressure changes. As the feed water tempera-
ture decreases, and/or the feed water TDS increases, the system will require a higher operating pressure to
produce the specified permeate flow. For example; A system installed in Florida may provide the specified per-
meate flow at 100 psi; however the same system installed in Maine with much colder feed water – may require
150 psi to produce the same amount of permeate.
CAUTION!
Never
exceed
150
psi
.
Adjusting Throttle Valve
To decrease the pressure turn the handle clockwise. To increase the pressure turn the handle counter clock-
wise.
