The optical-electronic sensor system consists of a
light source and a light receptor. The light from the
light source falls on the reagent pads on the strip.
The absorbance and reflectance vary with the color
development of reagent pad, i.e. The degree of
color
development
is
proportional
to
the
concentration of analyte in urine: if the color of
reagent pad is darker, more light is absorbed and
less light is reflected, vice versa.
