Feed system
Engine fuel feed system
Fuel from fuel tank, see Figure 3, is sucked in by a fuel boost pump and goes via coarse
and fine filters to the fuel injection pump (FIP).
The pump supplies the fuel
via pipes to the injectors which
inject the fuel into the engine
cylinders as per the order of their operation. The excessive fuel and air let in the system are taken
off through the jet-valve of fine filter via fuel lines to the fuel tank. The fuel soaked through
precision parts of the nozzles is also taken off via fuel lines to the fuel tank. The quantity of the fuel
in the fuel tank is measured by the electric level sensor installed in the tank is controlled on the
dashboard. The hand primer is used for fuel circulation when engine cranking.
