always switch the appliance off using the eIn/
aus [on/off / I/o] switch before disconnecting
the mains adapter from the wall socket.
2. Never immerse the appliance or the lead
cable completely in water or other liquids
to clean them. Make sure that no water
penetrates the casing of the appliance.
3. Never clean the appliance and the acces-
sories in the dishwasher.
4. Do not use any scrubbing sponges, abr-
asive agents, steel wool, metal objects,
disinfectants or hot cleaning agents, since
they can damage the appliance.
5. Clean the appliance with a soft, damp cloth.
6. Rinse the shaving head with hand-warm
water. To increase the cleaning effects, a
mild, liquid soap may be used.
7. If you rinse the shaving head regularly with
water, you should apply some drops of non-
corroding oil from time to time.
8. The appliance may also be cleaned without
using water. Detach the cutter block from
the appliance. Carefully detach the shaver
foil by pushing the black plastic supports
on the left and right of the cutter block
upwards.
9. Clean the cutter block with the cleaning
brush or a smooth paint brush.
10. Carefully shake the shaver foil to eliminate
dirt particles. The shaver foil must not be
cleaned with the brush, in order to avoid
damage.
11. Reattach the shaver foil to the cutter block
latching the foil into place on one side of
the support first and then on to the other. Do
not apply pressure to the foil itself, as this
may damage the foil.
12. Reattach the cutter block to the shaving
head.
13. The accessories (shaver foil, cutter block
and trim attachments) are subject to a
certain amount wear and tear and must be
changed from time to time. If the shaving
head, the cutter block or the shaver foil
are damaged, they must be replaced
immediately. Accessories can be directly
ordered from our after-sales service. The
corresponding order form can be found on
page 41.
14. Protect the appliance from dust.
Attention: The cutter head and the shaver foil have sharp and pointed parts. Handle with care in
order to avoid injuries!
aDDItIonaL InStructIonS For DISPoSaL
This appliance contains accumulators. For this reason, the appliance must not be disposed of in
the household waste. If you have any question concerning the correct disposal of accumulators
or accumulator-operated appliances, please contact your local disposal contractor. The appliance
contains accumulators, which are installed in the handle. The accumulators contain nickel metal
hydride.
You may find the following sign on contaminant-laden accumulators: Pb = contains lead, Cd =
contains cadmium, Hg = contains mercury.
