estimated exposure time (eet) calculation
Press the
„MoDe”
button to toggle the top display between the clock and EET modes.
note:
the EET mode cannot be activated unless the UVI measure is turned an. Press the
UC button to turn the UVI on or off, as explained in the following section:
1. If it is not already on, press
„uV”
to turn on the UVI measurement.
(The “UVI” icon appears on the left side of the UV display when it is on).
2. Press
„MoDe”
to switch from Clock to EET mode. The „Skin Type” and „SPF” icons
flash. The current SPF numbers are located directly above the „SPF” icon.
3. Press the „+” button to move to the appropriate skin type (1-4). Press the „-“ button
to move to the appropriate SPF number (1-50). Skin Type and SPF definition charts are
found on the next page.
4. Press the
„uV”
button to confirm the skin Type and SPF settings. The current UV index
reading is used to calculate an Estimate Exposure Time (up to 12 hours).
The EET flashes in the top LCD screen.
5. Press the
„uV”
button again to start the EET count down timer.
6. When the EET count down is complete, an alarm will sound for 1 minute. Press any
key to turn off the alarm.
7. If the „UVI” mode is turned off during EET count down, the clock will reappear in the
top LCD and the EET will clear. To start another EET countdown, repeat the steps above.

sunglasses, and use appropriate sunscreen.
- Take all precautions, as unprotected skin can burn
and be damaged within minutes. White sand, water,
snow and other bright surfaces reflect UV will increa-
se UV exposure.
