a.  Let the chain turn until all of the accumulated oil 

is thrown off.

b.  Point the “nose” of the guide bar toward a clean, 

dry smooth surface.

c.  Turn the chain while keeping the “nose” of the 

guide bar approximately 2” from the surface.

d.  Check the oil discharge from the guide bar 

“nose”. There should be a light oil accumulation 
on the surface.

e.  If no oil appears, screw out the adjustment  

screw (52) 1/8 – 1/4 turn and then recheck.

f.  If too much oil is discharged, screw in the 

adjustment screw 1/8 – 1/4 turn and recheck

Note:  A dry chain will heat up and cause excessive wear on 

the bar and chain

CHAIN OILER ADJUSTMENT

OPEN/CLOSED CENTER CIRCUIT

The ACS model can be operated on an open or 
closed center hydraulic circuit.

To convert from open           closed center circuit:

a. Remove ultramid handle (8).
b. Remove return hose.
c. Remove return hose connector (5).
d.  Install or remove open to closed center plug (36).

Note:  For your convenience you can store the plug on the 

tool when not in use.

CHAIN TENSION ADJUSTMENT

SAFETY DECALS

a. Disconnect tool from power source.
b. Make sure to wear protective gloves.
c.  Saw chain and bar should be cool when checking 

or adjusting chain tension.

d. Loosen the two guide bar securing bolts (20).
e.  Turn adjusting screw (57) until chain tension is 

properly adjusted. (1/8” chain clearance at the  
bar center).

f. Tighten the guide bar securing bolts (20).
g. Freely run the saw for a few minutes.
h.  Re-check chain tension (disconnect tool power 

source!)
